Testing

The following are 2007-2008 school year dates for tests that directly affect educational, vocational, and personal planning at North High School.

Basic Standards Tests (BSTs)

Grades 11-12 (who have not yet passed the following tests):
November 27 - Writing Test
November 28 - Mathematics Test
November 29 - Reading Test

February 5 - Mathematics Test
February 6 - Reading Test

Grade 12 (who have not yet passed the following test):
April 8 - Writing Test

Grades 11-12 (who have not yet passed the following tests):
April 9 - Mathematics Test
April 10 - Reading Test

Minnesota Graduation-Required Assessment for Diploma (GRAD Exams)

Grade 10 (who have not yet passed the following tests):
November 27 - Writing GRAD exam

Grade 9 - April 15 - Writing GRAD exam

Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA II)/GRAD Exams
Grade 10 - April 15 AND April 16 - Reading MCA-II
Grade 11 - April 15 AND April 16 - Math MCA-II
Grade 10 - May 13-16 - Science MCA-II

MCAs will be given over TWO days again this year: Tues, Apr 15 and Wed, Apr 16.
*All 10th and 11th graders must test on BOTH days starting at 7:25 a.m.
*All 9th & 12th graders will start school at 10:25 a.m. on BOTH days. Buses will pick up exactly 3 hours later than normal.

PLAN
Grade 10- October 23

PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test)
Grade 11 - October 17 - Optional Test

Advanced Placement (AP) Testing
Grades 10-12 - May 5-9 and 12-16
Morning exams start at 7:25am; afternoon exams start at 12:00pm. Total testing time for each exam is between 3-4 hours.

ACT
(American College Testing Program)
Grades 11 and 12 - voluntary and requires a fee

ACT Prep: Community Education is offering a prepartion course this March. Check out page 8 of their catalog (there is a fee for this course).

11th graders should take the ACT in the spring, 12th graders in the fall.
